William Longo, 78, passed away Sept. 14, 2013, at his home in Placentia, Calif., with his family at his side.
He was born Feb. 7, 1935, in Penn-Pitt, Pa., the son of the late John and Agatha (Guzzo) Longo. He resided in Eastlake and Willoughby before moving to California in 1987.
Bill was one of the founding brothers of Ohio Sealants Inc. (OSI), alongside his brothers, Patrick and Leonard. Each brother provided an ingredient for success, Bill was executive VP and excelled in marketing and sales. Working together, they made OSI one of the leading manufacturers of sealants and adhesives in the industry. Before joining his brothers in business, Bill attended Mapletown High School in Greensboro, Pa. He owned and operated Longo Electric and Route 88 Service Station. He was a member of Pine Ridge County Club in Wickliffe and Indian Wells County Club in Indian Wells, Calif., where he enjoyed golf and playing cards. Bill loved life, family and friends. He was an excellent cook and loved to tend his gardens. He experienced life to its fullest and he always had a great story to share. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; daughter, Tracy (Jim) McNally; son, William (Angela) Longo; stepsons, Mark (Lisa) Atchison, Craig (Jenifer) Atchison and Gary Atchison; 10 grandchildren, Emily and James Longo, Honor and Andrew McNally, Joey, Sean, Taylor, Victoria, Cole Robert and Megan Atchison; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Peter Longo, James Longo, Leonard Longo and Patrick Longo; and two sisters; Josephine Longo (in infancy) and Atternia Barzanti.
Private services will be held in Placentia, Calif.
