The November 1996 issue of Cornerstone Clues states only one child of Harriet Eve and Stephen Gapen left descendants; Only one was alive in 1914 - Stephen of Frankfort Indiana. Ann M., wife of Benson Riggs, left 8 descendants.

From Barbara Barbe report:
The stone originally looked like Aged 69 yrs instead of 60 yrs. After raising the date with hot water it is very apparent that the age at death was 60 yrs, 1 mo, 15d.
Since the above two died within 7 days of each other; it is possible that the monument maker made a mistake on the deathdates. That Stephen died on Sept. 17, 1856 and Harriet on Sept 10, 1856., as Stephen Gapen was supposed to have been born on July 21, 1797. Family records said that Stephen Gapen had died on Sept. 17, 1856.
