Notes for Ewing Minor Barb
Connie is a very sweet lady, kind and friendly. She has been a wonderful mother , wife and grandmother and they all seem to get along so very well. At this date @/24/07 she has been taking care of Ewing who is an invalid after a stroke and other problems. She is not very well herself.


Ewing is a nice easy going man.. His grandchildren adore him,

Dairy farmer was WWII Army vet
Ewing M. Barb, 86, of Mapletown, died at 10:12 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in the home where he was born Monday, August 17, 1925, in Mapletown. He was son of the late Charles Alexander Barb and Lessie Nina Minor Barb.
Mr. Barb was a member of Mapletown United Methodist Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in the Philippines.
Mr. Barb was a member of Masontown Masonic Lodge 459 F&AM and SAR.
When his health permitted, he served on several farm committees. He enjoyed working with horses and going to horse shows with his daughters. Mr. Barb worked as a dairy farmer most of his life on his centennial farm in Mapletown, retiring in 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Constance Wagner Barb, whom he married January 16, 1953.
Also surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Robin B. (Daryl L.) Throckmorton of Waynesburg and Minda B. (Ralph) Adams of Garards Fort; five grandchildren, Rachel (Josh) Reedy, Heather (Dan) Adamson, Lorraine Adams, Daryl M. Throckmorton and R.J. Adams; two great-grandchildren, Eliza Grace Reedy and Brayden Daniel Adamson; a brother and his wife, H. Miller (Dora) Barb of Mapletown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Kenneth Barb and Charles Barbe.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370. There will be additional visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., the time of service, Sunday, March 11, in Mapletown United Methodist Church, Mapletown, with the Rev. John W. Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro, Monongahela Township. Graveside military honors will be accorded by Cumberland American Legion Post 400, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 of Carmichaels, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6303 Greensboro and representatives of the U.S. Army.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Handicap Accessible Fund, Mapletown United Methodist Church, 926 Mapletown Road, Greensboro. Mr. Barb's desire to attend church was the inspiration for the fund.
